Local conditions, safety and rules

Wind and water conditions

Lake Lacanau: the waterskiing zones at Grande Escoure and south of the Tedey headland are reserved for that activity; other activities are prohibited there. Also keep out of the kitesurfing zone near Talaris. These exclusions do not cover the whole lake: check the navigation plan and markers. Local hazards vary between Le Moutchic and Grande Escoure. Wear a buoyancy aid, follow the professional briefing and turn back early. Check the current forecast, local notices and the professional's instructions; a planned route must always adapt to conditions.

Markers and other users

Respect channels, swimming areas, harbours, other craft and local restrictions.

Protected areas

Do not land in prohibited or fragile areas; reserves may require permission.
